My Aunt Megan

My Aunt Megan came into town from Boston to see me this weekend.
Megan and Mommy went to UVa together. She's the editor for a magazine called improper Bostonian, Mommy says it's like a cross between Style and Richmond Magazine. She took both M&D shopping for new clothes since she has a better fashion sense than both of them combined. She also bought me a new barrette, I can't wait until I have some hair to put up in it. The McKees came over with their 3 Saturday night and we cooked lobsters. Then we went to a new restaurant Verbena last night, I'd heard good things and they were all true, plus, Mommy let me sit on her lap through the whole meal! Aunt Megan flew out this morning. I look forward to seeing her again and meeting her husband Todd.

My Doctor's Appt Revisted

So I had my four month check up today with who Mommy calls "cute Dr. McKenna". I weighed in at a whopping 13 lbs 11oz, putting me solidly in the 50th percentile for weight. I am 24.5 inches tall, which puts me in the 75th percentile. Who knew, looking at my parents, that I'd ever be taller than 75% of those in my peer group. The most surprising thing to me was my headsize which only fell in the 50th percentile. It's shocking because Daddy has a ginormous noggin, he said he used to have to wear the sole 7 3/4 football helmet that Collegiate owned.
Soon we're off to neighbors Rick and Kathy's for dinner. Aunt Megan's flight gets in at 10.30, so I guess I will meet her tomorrow, that's past my bedtime.

My Baptism

My Baptism was last Sunday.

It was held at the church that Daddy grew up in; Centenary downtown. Pastor Pat officiated, while my Godparents Uncle Eliot and Aunt Beth looked on. We had Annie, Emily and Charlotte at the front of the church with us. Lots of M&D's immediate family came into town from Louisa, and as far as Louisiana. I wore the same pretty dress that Mommy had worn in hers. We then had everyone over to our house afterwards for brunch. There was lots of food and lots of people wanting to hold me; so exciting! I was such a good baby for all of it that I got a little cranky later on in the day, comes with the territory I guess. This weekend is looking to be lots of fun, my Aunt Megan that I've never met is coming in from Boston for the long weekend. Mommy says she's always fun. More on that later.

My Busby Trip

All my life, I've heard about how much fun a Busby weekend is. Let me back up, Daddy's daddy, my Big G, did his residency at MCV with a man named Daddy Rudy Busby. He was and is married to Mommy Karen. They have four children; Bret, Bart, Brooke and Bridget who have all married equally fun people and most of whom have kids. The Vetrovec clan just came back from spending half a week in Duck with the Busby clan residing next door. We did everything. We played on the beach, we cooked, we drank, we played in the pool, we drank, we shot pool, we drank. Anyway, I think you probably get the gist. I had fun meeting everyone, especially the kids; Emily, Kathryn, Patrick, Grace and Claire. They were all very nice to me even though I was the little one. Hopefully the next time I see them, I'll be big enough to romp a little with everyone. We're talking about a reprise next year if we can get it planned, and maybe a mid-year football game somewhere in the Triangle. I look forward to it!

My Sleepover

Believe it or not, I had not slept one night away from Mommy since I've been born. That all changed on Saturday night. Mommy told me she had arranged a sleepover with Aunt Beth and my cousin Charlotte, but I think I was duped, I heard her discussing her upcoming date night with Daddy. They took me over in time to watch the Kentucky Derby, very exciting, and yummy mint Juleps. Then M&D left and Charlotte pounced. I had fun, we all slept in Aunt Beth's room, even Sunny the puppy. I like puppies, they're slobbery like me. If you can't read my shirt, it says "If you think I'm good looking, you should see my Aunt" my Aunt Beth gave it to me. It's one of my favorite onesies. M&D came and picked me up in the morning. They told me they had sat on the couch and pined for me all night. I think I read sarcasm in Mommy's eyes.

My Busy Week

Usually when I tell about my activities, it is almost unilaterally from some adventure that I had over the weekend. Last week held lots of activities for me on school nights. I finally got to meet my cousin Annika, she's married to Daddy's first cousin Ty, who I have not met yet. They're moving back from Vermont. She arrived first because she changed jobs, and he should be following not far behind when he finishes his contract. I was happy to see her, although it doesn't look so from the picture. The next night, Daddy's client Philip opened up a new Chicago Uno Pizzaria. I got invited to the grand opening, and M&D convinced me to drag them along. Mmmh... pizza and beer!
