My Twin Weekend

Neither of these pictures have much to do with my weekend, I just thought they might suffice as a fix for all you baby lovers out there. Friday night we went to meet Ryan and Brendan, twins born to M&D's friends Josh and Jenn on Feb. 29th. Stupid daddy forgot to take the camera with him Friday night when we went over for dinner. Then they came over for the Irish Festival on saturday afternoon. We didn't get any pictures of them then either, but they are so cute and so little. M&D seem to have lots of friends with twins, I'm jealous. The second picture is how they dressed me to take me to the Irish Festival. I'm not sure why they delight so in dressing me up like animals, but it feels a little demeaning to me. It was a little chilly at the festival though, so I was glad I was bundled and furry. Amazing the change in the weather, just the day before, I wore my first spring dress as depicted in the first frame.

My Aunt Casey and Uncle Lee

I've just been going through and transferring some pictures from the camera to the computer and I found a couple that I would like to showcase.

This is mommy's brother Lee and his wife Casey. They've come to see me a couple of times. They have a good ways to drive because they live in Gastonia, NC. Oddly, that is where my Uncle David is from originally. This was a couple of weekends ago, but it must have been St. Patricks day or something since they are both wearing green.

My Friend Visits

These pictures are from some recent visits that I have had. In the first one, that's Jenny and Joel. They were down over the weekend and came over to visit me. M&D are taking me up to Vermont in June to go see them again, they are getting married. This second picture is me over mommy's shoulder. I went to visit my new friend Mia last week, she was born on daddy's birthday. She whispered to me that she thought it would be funny for me to "flip the bird" to the camera when everyone thought I was asleep. She told me how to do this, but I don't really understand what it means. Daddy says he'll tell me one day. Why do I have to wait for all the good stuff?

My Beach Update

So far my first trip to the beach has been successful. It's been relatively good weather for mid March. M&D took me for my first walk on the beach yesterday. We walked about a mile and a half, plenty of time for me to fall asleep in the Baby Bjorn with the pleasant noise of waves crashing in the background. It's been very relaxing here, all I've really done is nap and eat, not really all that different than home, but a nice change of scenery. I've also gotten to visit with my cousins Emily and Charlotte quite a bit. Unfortunately Emily is not feeling too good, I hope she feels better soon, and I hope that I don't get it. Charlotte seems to be in my grill every time I wake up, which means she's probably there when I'm sleeping too. She likes to touch me, a lot. Overall, it's been a nice visit. Big G comes into town today, so I am expecting lots of long walks on the beach. Aunt Beth brought her camera, so I've taken lots of pictures with everyone, I just don't have a way to connect them to the computer, I'll have to add lots later. Everyone seems riveted by NCAA basketball. I'm not sure I get it, if NC State's not in it, why is anyone even watching? Daddy told me that he's taking me with Uncle Dave to Hooters for wings, beer and basketball. Sounds good to me, "delightfully tacky, yet unrefined!"

My Second Doctor's Visit

Sorry for the lack of pictures, M&D took me to the beach for a long Easter Weekend, but forgot to pack the cord that connects the camera to the computer. Now that I look for it, I'm pretty sure they forgot the camera to record my first beach visit. Maybe Meme, Big G, Aunt Beth or Uncle Dave can come to the rescue. Anyway, I had my 2 month appt yesterday. I weighed in at a stunning 10 lbs 10 oz and am now 22" long. I seem to be in the 50th percentile for everything, I guess not surprising when looking at my mommy and daddy. Chances are probably slim that I'll be 6+ feet and play for the WNBA. I got all my shots, including tetanus, I still maintain that pricks suck! It all made me a little cranky yesterday, but I seem to be feeling better today. More later since I have plenty of time on vacation.

My Poopy Daddy Too

I know that I occasionally look like the picture of innocence, but underneath it all, I'm sometimes mischievious. Case in point, Saturday morning Daddy and I were reading the paper and he was drinking his coffee. I was lying on his lap as I usually do in that situation, I'm not really a coffee girl yet. I had a fairly rumbly tummy, but I guess Daddy did not realize how much so. When he finally figured it out, it was too late. That's right, a blow out, up the diaper, out the legs, soaking a vast portion of Daddy's t-shirt, sleepy pants, and the boxers underneath. Since I haven't been to a horserace yet, that's my idea of a trifecta. The whole time I was just looking at Daddy with my cutely enigmatic smile. I guess he figured out what I was up to!

My First Happy Hour

Well, I know that the drinking age in this backwards country is still a few years off yet for me, but Friday I was feeling decidedly European and Bohemian. So I asked M&D to take me for drinks after daddy got home from work. This apparently coincided nicely with something they already had in mind. So as you can see here, I got tarted up in my finest girly duds for going out, and off we set for Sam Miller's Warehouse. They gave us a nice corner booth away from potential smokers. M&D managed to scarf a couple dozen oysters the way nature intended them, with beer and horseradish of course, oh yeah, and raw too. We stayed about an hour and headed back towards home where M&D capped dinner off with some soup. Not quite as exciting as oysters, but my beer laced milk was!

My Homestead Pics

Aha, Google was just forcing me to do these one at a time, not sure what they have against adding pictures three at a time. The only one missing from here is me with Uncle Nick, I think the only existing picture was taken with his camera. I enjoyed being at the Homestead and having everyone pay lots of attention to me. M&D were a little concerned because people who had hit the sauce heavily kept asking to hold me. Mostly they complied, and nobody dropped me. No travelling next weekend, I guess I'll be hanging with my peeps in the Hill. I'll let you know.

My Homestead Weekend

Well technical errors are certainly a pain no matter what age you are. I'm not quite seven weeks and already I'm facing hindrances. For example, I have lots of great pictures of everyone with me at the Homestead, but right now, Google keeps telling me that a server error is keeping me from getting my pictures up. No wonder their stock price has been cut in half. If you see pictures up with no posts later, they are of the rest of the crew. But the pictures that took, see my pretty mommy and my Aunt Beth wearing mommy's dress? And I like staring at my handsome daddy, pink bowtie and all. Of course, no one told him it was not really black tie optional. He was the only one wearing a tux in that whole ball room. I'll put pictures up of my uncle Nick who had us all up and I finally got to meet. My Aunt Nancy who I have showcased before. Mary Ann, daddy's cousin and her husband Chris. Ronnie and Barbara who are Richmond friends, but I don't think we got any pictures of. I learned more about the sauce this weekend. Aunt Beth partook, but not nearly as much as Uncle David. In uncle David's case, the sauce was anything, but particularly the Jamison that came out of daddy's hip flask. I'll add more later if I can get those pictures to work.

My Wintergreen Weekend

Mommy and Daddy took me for my first out of town trip this weekend, and I don't mean Ashland to see Uncle Eliot. They took me up to Pop's house in Wintergreen to go skiing. Daddy told me I'm too young to ski, maybe next year. Friends Laura and Jason went with us. Jason has been comfortable with me since he met me, for some reason, I have always terrified Laura though. While I didn't get to ski, I did get to make Laura more baby friendly. It helped that I was really, really good. I'll make M&D pay for that next weekend when they take me to the Homestead. Yay! More out of town trips. Then it's to the beach for Easter weekend, I'll be a we'll traveled girl by the end of March. Daddy's getting old, he'll be 32 this Friday, I've been helping mommy look for presents, why would daddy need anything else when he's got me?

My Receding Hairline

I think I'm going bald. Mommy says not to worry, this happens to most babies that are born with hair. They lose the hair, and new, and sometimes different color hair grows into place. Daddy decided to make me feel better about it. He took me out to Ashland to visit Uncle Eliot. As you can see here, Uncle Eliot is facing some of the same issues as me. I wonder what color hair his will be when it grows back? Well, as you can see here, bald is beautiful.
