My Beach Day

M&D took me out on the beach today. Daddy set up the umbrella, and Mommy laid me out a towel underneath it. I love the beach. I cooed away until I got tired enough to fall asleep.

They let me sleep there a while and transported me to my crib. I was still wearing my sun hat when I woke so Daddy snapped a picture of me in it. The other is a picture of Daddy and me from earlier, a little hard to see from the sunshine coming in. There was a better one, but Daddy didn't have his eyes opened in that one.

My Bumbo

M&D gave me a banned toy. See, I can't quite sit up on my own yet, but with my Bumbo seat, I can. Now, the nice people of South Africa manufactured this seat, but apparently it was recalled right before I was born. It seems some parents were putting their babies in the bumbo, and setting them up on cliffs and other high places. And then they seemed surprised when they left their children unattended and they fell out, getting hurt. So the bumbo makers were forced to recall them. M&D still let me use mine, they just keep me on the floor and keep an eye on me. But see how happy I am? Also, Mommy dressed me up like Goody Sarah from the Crucible and took me out for a little while. I like the beach and my Aunt Beth and my cousins.

My Big G

This is my Big G. He's Daddy's daddy. He went to Virginia, so he's very proud that I am wearing this Virginia tee-shirt. I've showed his wife Meme before, not to be confused with Meme Too. Big G is taking some time off to spend with me down in the Outer Banks for a couple of days. I will certainly update more later this week.

My Catch Up

I've been remiss recently in getting to the computer. Too many naps and teething toys, I guess, just haven't been putting up the posts like I should. My bad... On to two people I should have recognized before. The first picture is Daddy's friend Paula. She's a long-time client who came over to meet me recently. Everybody was wowed, she brought presents, not just for me, but for M&D as well!
Also pictured is Meme Too. Meme Too is also known in her other life as Beth, but not like Aunt Beth even though she is also married to a David like Uncle David. M&D depend on Meme Too at least once a week. She comes and takes me all kinds of fun places like the 2300 Club while they go to work. Friday night she and Dave also watched me while M&D were out for a surprise party. I'll miss seeing her this Thursday as we are currently at the beach. But it's a good chance for me to catch up on my posting and I'll see her next week, plus, I got my fix twice this week!

My Rollover

Daddy says I'm like a cross between a circus animal and a poltergeist.
He says that I'm learning new tricks, but only showing evidence of them. Twice now, M&D've left me playing on my play mat in my room, and when they are out and doing other things, I've completed a full roll from my
back to my tummy. They come back into my room to find me face down. That'll teach them not to ignore me. I'm shaming them by not doing my new trick in their presence. Maybe I'll relent, but I think I'll let them sweat for a while. Like the poltergeist I am, I'll see what other tricks I can conjure up. Maybe I'll actually let M&D see next time.

My Vermont Wedding

We traveled to Vermont last weekend for a wedding weekend getaway. A lot of those involved have been showcased in these hallowed grounds previously. We started in Essex Junction where we stayed with Daddy's cousin Ty. We're glad we got to see his place, he's moving back to Richmond soon, his wife Annika is already here. We then went south to Vergennes and stayed at a resort on Lake Champlain. Mommy and Daddy remarked on how it was just like Dirty Dancing, whatever that is. Daddy repeated, ad nauseum, "Nobody puts baby in a corner" and yet somehow I still ended up there. The wedding was lots of fun. Too much to put in one post, maybe I'll do another. I'll add pictures later, I'm having technical difficulties again.

My Sick Mommy

Mommy got sick last weekend. Daddy did too, but not as bad as Mommy. You would think so though, Daddy tends to whine a lot more about being sick. He claims it's because it doesn't happen to him very often so he deals with it considerably less well than Mommy who seems to get a lot of colds. Mommy told me she had a stomach bug, but I don't really understand. Daddy calls me "Bug" and I tend to spend a lot of time around Mommy's tummy, but I don't think I did anything wrong. Anyway, I got a little less attention this weekend than and I was really wanting. M&D tried, but I tried to lower my expectation so as to give them a little bit of a break. Meme did come over on Sunday though to help them out a little. They both took the time to go take a nap. I was a little sleepy too, so I crashed out on Meme's chest on the couch. What a nice nap!
